Donald E. Behnke

Donald Ernst Behnke, age 70, of Freedom, WI, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024, at Theda Clark – Neenah, surrounded by the love of his family.

Donald was born on November 24, 1953, to the late Lloyd and Florence Behnke, in Reedsville, Wisconsin.  He graduated from Reedsville High School.

On December 2, 1977, Donald married the love of his life, Lynne Muenster, in Freedom, WI at Freedom Moravian Church.

He would go on to work construction all his life retiring from Bayland Buildings.  In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting with his family and friends.  Donald took pride in all his tractor rides with friends and families, making lots of memories, including all the doodle bug rides.  A family man he was and loved nothing more than spending time with his grandkids.

Donald is survived by his wife Lynne. He is also survived by his daughter Erin (Brandon) Conrad; his son Derek (Kim) Behnke; grandkids, Kelcie and Blake Conrad, McKayla Fitz, and Madison Behnke.  He is further survived by his mother-in-law, LaVerne Muenster; brother, Dale (Anita) Behnke; sisters Nancy (Richard) Baumgartner and Darlene (Mark) Propson; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Mike) Land and Patti (Ron) Dombrowski, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Florence Behnke; stepmother, Lorraine Loose; father-in-law, George Muenster; and grandparents Ernst and Selma Behnke and George and Ruth Behnke.

Funeral Services will be held @ 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Freedom Moravian Church, W3471 Center Valley Rd, Appleton, WI 54913, with Pastor Jason Andersen officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday at church from 9:00 a.m. till the time of service.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Theda Clark – Neenah for their love and compassion for our beloved husband and father.  He is plowing the roads of heaven.
