In May 2024, Derek expanded by taking ownership of Valley Funeral Home in Appleton and Greenville, Wisconsin. The goal with this growth was to ensure that families in Appleton, Greenville, and the surrounding communities continue to receive the compassionate care they deserve, while maintaining a local ownership and values that have been a hallmark of both Valley Funeral Home and Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home.
